Privacy Policy
Siltop Group Ride helps riders coordinate group rides, share live location, report trail issues, save trails, upload photos, and communicate with group members. This Privacy Policy explains what information the app collects, how it is used, and the choices you have.
Information We Collect
Depending on how you use the app, we may collect:
- Account information, such as display name, username, email address, first name, last name, and optional passholder control number.
- Authentication information from sign-in providers such as Google or Apple.
- Live location information when you enable ride sharing, group sharing, anonymous sharing, or map-related features.
- Group ride content, including group membership, pending requests, member settings, and group chat messages.
- Trail content, including recorded trails, trail issue reports, clear reasons, suggested trail ratings, and uploaded GPX data.
- Photos and captions that you choose to upload for trail reports, cleared issues, places, or community photo features.
- Push notification tokens used to send app notifications.
- Basic app activity, map preferences, mileage-tracking state, and diagnostic data needed to operate, secure, troubleshoot, and improve the app.
How We Use Information
We use information to:
- Show riders, groups, trails, trail issues, places, and photos inside the app.
- Provide live group ride location sharing and optional anonymous rider visibility.
- Send push notifications for group chat, join requests, trail issues, rider activity, and admin alerts.
- Let admins manage users, groups, uploads, reports, trail data, and app safety features.
- Maintain account access, profile settings, app security, and support requests.
Location Sharing
Location sharing is controlled by app settings such as group sharing, Map On, and anonymous sharing. Group ride locations may be visible to members of your groups. Anonymous sharing uses an anonymous map marker for normal users, while admins may be able to view location information for safety, moderation, troubleshooting, and support.
Location data may continue updating while a ride is active if background location permission is enabled. You can disable sharing features in the app or revoke location permission in your device settings.
Photos, Chat, Reports, and User Content
Content you submit, such as messages, photos, captions, trail reports, suggested trail ratings, and uploaded trails, may be visible to other users or admins depending on the feature. Do not submit content you do not want shared with the intended audience.
Third-Party Services
The app uses third-party services to operate core features, including:
- Firebase and Google Cloud services for authentication, database, app data, and related infrastructure.
- Mapbox for map display, map tiles, and mapping features.
- Expo services for push notifications and app delivery tooling.
- Cloudflare Workers and R2 for backend API functions and file storage.
- Google and Apple sign-in services when you choose those sign-in methods.
These providers may process information according to their own privacy policies and service terms.
Data Sharing
We do not sell your personal information. Information may be shared with service providers that help operate the app, with other app users as part of app features you use, with admins for moderation and support, or when required by law.
Retention and Deletion
We retain account, profile, sharing, content, and diagnostic information while it is needed to provide the app, protect the community, provide support, meet legal obligations, or maintain secure backups. When account deletion completes, account access and directly associated profile data are removed. Some reports, messages, photos, moderation records, audit records, or backup copies may remain when needed for safety, moderation, fraud prevention, legal compliance, or service integrity.
Your Choices
- You can change profile details, pin color, sharing settings, and notification settings in the app where available.
- You can disable location permission, photo permission, or notification permission through your device settings.
- You can delete your account from the Profile tab or request deletion through the Account Deletion page. Some content may remain if needed for safety, moderation, audit, legal, or backup purposes.
- You can contact support to request help with account or data questions.
Children
Siltop Group Ride is not intended for children under 13. If you believe a child has provided personal information, contact us so we can review and remove it where appropriate.
Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational safeguards to protect app data. No system can be guaranteed to be completely secure.
Changes To This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Updates will be posted on this page with a new updated date.
